"As an athlete I would highly recommend John Sinclair as a personal trainer. I recently became the 2002 Alberta Provincial Fitness Champion - short class and overall titles- I owe John great credit for whipping me into "the best shape of my life". I myself, have taken the AFLCA personal trainer course (years ago) as well presently registered with ISSA's personal training course, and let me tell you John knows his stuff.
My goals were more specific than the average person. I had to very
selective, someone more knowledgeable than myself and whom I respected. Generally, my goal was to be the best I could be for the fitness competition on May 25th, 2002. And just like any other amateur athlete, I had restrictions with the time and commitment I was able to give. Upon our first consultation, I knew he was the one to hire. He immediately laid out a proposed schedule that was exactly what I needed to prepare for the competition. That impressed me! He was quite specific and proved to be extremely knowledgeable. He did not give me the "I'll find out and get back to you treatment." Above all, he was excited to help me, and welcomed the challenge of not training a fitness competitor before.
Once the training sessions begun, my body did not know what hit it. It was GREAT! That is what I needed, someone whom I respected that could push me to the limits I didn't know I had. He trained me like an athlete and made me feel like an athlete. He always gave me the support and motivation at each session. He actually did that whenever I saw him in the gym.
The last month was quite stressful on a personal level, and I wasn't able to meet John for our regular sessions. He would call to follow up, or if he saw me he would make time to talk about what I needed to get back on track. He even offered to arrange his work schedule around me. Now, that's dedication! Honestly, I felt bad about the chaos and lack of commitment right before the show, but...Hey, I still reached my goal!!! John went to the show, even videotaped it. After he knew I had won my titles he was pretty much a "proud papa"!
I can't tell you how much I appreciate John's time, effort and support. I
would highly recommend him to anyone if you want your goals to be reached. Now John, my next goal is to make a great impression at the 2002 CBBF National Fitness Competition on June 22, 2002. Your job isn't done yet, John! It has only just begun."
